John Stamos is going from House to Hero.
The actor, best known for his role on ABC’s Full House, is making headlines for surprising 19-year-old amputee Kaitlyn Dobrow in the hospital as she recovers from meningococcal meningitis.
Dobrow lost all four of her limbs due to the bacterial infection, which almost took her life, and has undergone 20 surgeries.
Word got out about Stamos’ trip to see Dobrow when he posted a picture of them on Instagram.
“I’m ONLY doing this cause they [the Dobrow family] asked,” Stamos captioned. “I said no press. But this story is a must read — plus me and katie have a date to Disneyland.”
Stamos’ visit isn’t the only good news Dobrow received lately. On Aug. 16th, she will leave the hospital and move to a physical rehabilitation facility.
And yes, once she’s able, Dobrow will spend a day at Disneyland with Stamos.
Dobrow’s mother, Kathi Dobrow, says there are a lot of unknowns regarding her daughter’s future, but the circumstances aren’t going to get the best of her.
“Kaitlyn has had an amazingly positive and courageous attitude throughout this illness and is determined to have a happy, fulfilling life, believing that God has an awesome plan for her future.”
Dobrow’s family is raising money to help cover their considerable expenses, which include hospital bills, new prostheses and therapy. If you would like to donate, please visit their GiveForward page.
